Marion Dovis is a Full Professor of Economics at the Aix-Marseille School of Economics (AMSE), Aix-Marseille University, France. Her research sits at the intersection of development economics, international trade, and health. She has investigated the links between trade openness and firm productivity, the determinants of women’s economic empowerment in the MENA region and Sub-Saharan Africa, and the effects of environmental shocks — including rainfall variability — on household welfare and child wellbeing. Her current work explores social protection policies, gender dynamics, and migration aspirations among youth in fragile contexts. Marion has published in leading peer-reviewed journals and has contributed to research projects funded by the French National Research Agency (ANR), the Economic Research Forum, and the African Development Bank.At Aix-Marseille University, she also leads the International Program in Economics and Management (IPEM), a Bachelor’s degree programme taught entirely in English.
