Reader at the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales since 2013, Christelle Rabier investigates the history of European medicalisation (14c-19c). She understands medicalization as the advent of a powerful technical belief, of which she explores the political, professional and economic dimensions. Besides she develops a research program on the comparative and material history of the social sciences. She is part of the editorial board of Tracés. Revue de sciences humaines (2014-) and runs a blog Academia, about working conditions in social sciences and humanities.
